The Opportunity:

  • The Global Maintenance Standards Lead is responsible for defining, harmonizing, and continuously improving maintenance standards, practices, and work processes across all CSL Behring sites.

  • This role sets the global framework for maintenance planning and scheduling,

  • preventive and predictive maintenance, and spare parts and CMMS standards, ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of assets.

  • The position partners with site and regional leaders to drive consistency, build capability, and embed maintenance excellence practices that support CSL’s patient-focused mission and Core Values.


The Role:
Global Maintenance Standards Framework and Direction
-

  • Define, maintain, and govern the global maintenance standards that guide how CSL sites plan, schedule, execute, and document maintenance activities.

  • Develop global procedures, playbooks, and guidelines for core maintenance processes, including work identification, planning, scheduling, execution, and close-out.

  • Establish minimum standards for preventive and predictive maintenance programs, including task libraries, frequencies, and criticality-based approaches.

  • Conduct global maturity assessments to evaluate adherence to maintenance standards and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Monitor global maintenance KPIs and metrics, translate insights into actions, and communicate performance and expectations to site and regional leadership.

  • Maintenance Systems and CMMS Governance -

  • Provide global ownership for maintenance related systems, including CMMS and SAP PM configuration, master data standards, and maintenance object structure.

  • Define and govern standardized data fields, codes, and naming conventions to support accurate reporting and benchmarking across sites.

  • Guide the deployment and enhancement of digital maintenance solutions, such as mobile work management, condition monitoring, and analytics, in alignment with CSL standards.

  • Ensure that maintenance systems and processes support regulatory compliance, data integrity, and audit readiness.

  • Global Collaboration, Capability Building, and Best Practices-

  • Work with site engineering, maintenance, operations, quality, EHS, and OpEx teams to align on maintenance standards and expectations.

  • Lead global networks or communities of practice focused on maintenance standards, planning and scheduling, and work management excellence.

  • Develop and maintain training content, toolkits, and reference materials that support consistent adoption of maintenance standards at all sites.

  • Facilitate workshops, coaching, and mentoring for site teams to build capability in maintenance work management, planning and scheduling, and preventive and predictive maintenance.

  • Promote systematic sharing of best practices, lessons learned, and standard solutions across regions and sites.

  • Demonstrate flexibility in work hours to support collaboration with global stakeholders in different time zones.

  • Other Responsibilities-

  • Provide maintenance standards input for capital projects, new technology introductions, and significant equipment changes, ensuring maintainability and standard alignment.

  • Support audits, inspections, and internal reviews related to maintenance practices and work management.

  • Contribute to global engineering and maintenance initiatives, including long-term roadmaps, transformation programs, and CSL Way deployment as applicable.

  • Attend assigned global meetings and forums to support information flow, alignment, and decision making.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor, members of the Global Leadership Team, or other authorized leaders in support of evolving business needs and cross-functional collaboration.

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Structural, or related) or a related technical field required.

  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred.

  • 7+ years of experience in maintenance, reliability, or asset management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in pharmaceutical, biotech, or other highly regulated industries.

  • Proven experience designing, implementing, or governing maintenance standards and work management processes across multiple sites or regions.

  • Experience with CMMS and enterprise systems, preferably including SAP PM, and familiarity with maintenance-related analytics and reporting.

  • Experience leading cross-functional and cross-site initiatives, including training, standard deployment, and change management.

  • Ability and willingness to travel globally based on business needs.

  • Strong technical understanding of maintenance principles, asset care strategies, and work management processes.

  • Strong analytical skills and data-informed decision-making, with the ability to interpret maintenance metrics, identify trends, and set priorities.

  • Ability to lead change and influence without direct authority in a complex, global, and matrixed organization.

  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for diverse audiences.

  • Strong skills in cross-cultural collaboration, with the ability to work productively with teams across different regions and backgrounds.

  • Ability to manage multiple global priorities, adapt to changing conditions, and work independently with sound judgment and accountability.
