ProAmpac in Richmond, BC is seeking a skilled Graphics Technician to join its fast-paced team!
Reporting to the Graphics Manager at ProAmpac, the Graphics Technician is part of a team of graphic experts, dedicated to innovation, working day after day to successfully translate graphics into well-known brands in the marketplace. In this role, the Graphics Technician is responsible for the layout and preparation of electronic production files in accordance with customer and printer specifications. This role produces press-ready files that exceed customer expectations within a specific market segment. The Graphics Technician positively represents and promotes the ProAmpac image and proactively provides solutions.
You will: prepare electronic production files per customer and printer specifications; given customer-supplied files/file samples, develop graphics for flexographic printing.
- Build art to exact sizes per specifications; use press specs for separations, traps, bleeds, etc.; output laser/inkjet proofs and press-accurate proofs; produce verifiable barcodes; apply bump curves, cutbacks, and screen angles for flexo plating.
- Make corrections to customer-supplied art, set type, simplify vector art supplied by the customer, perform colour separation of line art elements, simplify colour palettes, add all company marks and tag lines, add all printers’ marks, and check the customer-supplied artwork.
What you have to offer
You possess: a diploma or degree in a graphics-related field or equivalent years of experience within a pre-press and/or printing environment.
- Solid customer-service-focused philosophy and the ability to work directly with customers.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- General flexographic knowledge is necessary. Ability to learn is essential; actively participate and embrace change.
- Solid computer skills and working knowledge of MAC OS and Windows Operating Systems; proficient skills in Illustrator, Photoshop, and Esko.
- Excellent oral and written communication, organization and problem-solving skills; ability to communicate effectively within a team atmosphere.
- Ability to handle demanding schedules and multiple priorities.
- Ability to effectively work with all levels of the organization and demonstrate a positive “can-do” attitude.
