Job DescriptionNursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years OR RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A critical role is available for a registered nurse with expertise in operating room care, specializing in orthopedics. This travel position offers an engaging opportunity to contribute to surgical care in a focused, small team environment managing two orthopedic ORs. Schedule:
- Daylight shifts with weekly rotation:
5:30 AM 2:00 PM
6:30 AM 3:00 PM
7:30 AM finish (usually 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM) to complete elective cases and add-ons - Weekend on-call coverage: 6:00 AM 6:00 PM, 2 weekends every 6 weeks
- No elective cases scheduled during weekend call, primarily coverage
- Some shifts may require staying beyond scheduled hours (up to 1-2 additional hours) to finish cases or add-ons
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care in orthopedic operating rooms
- Collaborate closely with a small, dedicated team of 6 (3 RNs, 3 surgical techs)
- Manage patient care during elective surgeries and occasional add-ons
- Participate in weekend on-call coverage as scheduled
- Maintain flexibility to stay beyond scheduled shifts when necessary to ensure continuity of care and case completion

- Current RN licensure with experience in operating room nursing
- Familiarity with orthopedic surgical procedures and sterile techniques
- Ability to work a rotating shift schedule and weekend call coverage
- Strong teamwork and communication skills within a small specialized team
