Job Description
SUMMARY:
As the Environmental Health & Safety Manager, you will lead efforts to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, prevent workplace incidents, and manage post-injury processes. This role is responsible for implementing and maintaining Environmental Health & Safety plans aligned with company goals, promoting a proactive safety culture, and collaborating with teams to improve our overall Environmental Health & Safety strategy and systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIORNMENT:
As the Environmental Health & Safety Manager, you will lead efforts to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, prevent workplace incidents, and manage post-injury processes. This role is responsible for implementing and maintaining Environmental Health & Safety plans aligned with company goals, promoting a proactive safety culture, and collaborating with teams to improve our overall Environmental Health & Safety strategy and systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and manage safety initiatives to reduce accidents, injuries, and workers' compensation costs
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and other local, state, and federal safety regulations; respond to regulatory inquiries
- Perform regular audits and inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective actions
- Investigate workplace accidents and injuries, determine root causes, and recommend preventive measures
- Design and conduct training programs for employees on general and job-specific safety practices
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs), maintain safety records, and prepare required reports
- Work with other departments to ensure new equipment, facilities, and processes meet safety standards
- Perform other job functions related to the position assigned by management
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5 to 6 years related experience; bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.)
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safe Quality Food SQF Certified preferred
- Proven leadership and business acumen skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Demonstrated competence in reacting to and handling emergencies
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. Bilingual skills are a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIORNMENT:
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
- Occasionally exposure to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather), exposure to outside weather conditions
- Continually required to talk or hear and to utilize hand and finger dexterity
- Frequently required to sit
- Willingness to Travel (25-30%)
