This opportunity is:

Location: Aiea, HI

Days: Monday - Friday (with some travel to neighboring islands)

Shift:  1st Shift

Full-time: Benefits Eligible

Salary: $55K to $67K, depending on experience 

In this role, you will:

  • Partner with leadership across laboratory and administrative departments to support employee engagement, retention, and workforce planning initiatives
  • Manage and resolve employee relations matters in a healthcare environment; conduct thorough, fair, and compliant investigations
  • Provide guidance and counseling to managers and employees on performance management, disciplinary actions, and workplace concerns
  • Advise leaders on HR policies, procedures, and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (including Hawaii-specific regulations)
  • Support recruitment efforts by coordinating requisitions, offers, onboarding, and orientation for clinical and non-clinical roles
  • Analyze HR metrics (turnover, retention, time-to-fill) to provide actionable insights and recommendations
  • Coordinate and deliver training programs to support leadership development, compliance, and employee growth
  • Serve as a resource for employee benefits questions and partner with benefits teams during open enrollment and ongoing support
  • Plan and facilitate employee engagement initiatives and events across multiple island locations
  • Collaborate with external vendors and internal stakeholders to support HR operations
  • Promote and exemplify Clinical Labs of Hawaii’s mission, values, and commitment to excellence in patient care

All you need is:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field OR 4–5 years of relevant HR experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience across employee relations, training, recruitment, and/or compensation & benefits.
  • Strong experience in employee relations, including conducting workplace investigations
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including compliance in a healthcare setting
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and exercise sound judgment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-service mindset
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility with leaders and employees at all levels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Workday or similar HRIS preferred
  • Willingness to travel periodically between locations across Oahu and neighbor islands

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting multi-site healthcare or laboratory operations
  • Professional certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP
  • Familiarity with union environments or healthcare compliance requirements (a plus)
